Patricia Tubbs

Born on January 5, 1953, in Cleveland, Ohio, Pat was the eleventh and unexpected addition to her family. When teased about not being planned, she would cheerfully respond, “I’m just happy to be here.” She proudly boasts about being the only sibling born in a hospital, noting how times have changed with the younger generation now bragging about home births! Pat is the third “Boss,” always keeping everyone together and tying up loose ends.

Known as the “organizer,” Pat’s detailed nature and love for spreadsheets are legendary. She is inclusive, nurturing, and always helping others forge their paths. She even invited all her nieces to her campus in Kent State University to expose them to college life. Pat enjoys traveling, dancing and event planning.

Pat had the unique privilege of learning life’s lessons from her parents and ten siblings. Having moved away from Cleveland, she and Joe brought their family back often to build family memories and strengthen bonds.

Professionally, right out of college Pat worked briefly as a schoolteacher, where she met her husband, Joe. Then as Division Manager for Sears. After joining IBM where she worked for 28 years, she served as a Systems Engineer, Marketing Manager, Program Director of Worldwide Olympic Marketing, traveling across Europe and to places like Australia, Japan and Brazil to set up events for the Olympic Games, PGA tournaments and Grand Slam Tennis.

For the last 12 years, Pat has worked for The Villages Health in Florida, currently as the Corporate Events Manager. Not one to slow down, in 2023 she started a business, “Grand Scheme of Things,” selling promotional products.

Pat welcomed two stepsons, Joey and Jeff, when she married Joe. Together they had two sons, Erik and Winstonn. She has eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Blessed with two of those grandchildren in 2023, Erik’s daughter Elise and Winstonn’s daughter Nouri, born six months apart!

Patricia and her partner Leonard currently enjoy traveling and going on jazz concerts.
